Let’s talk about money, honey! 💸
💚 Payment Types
There are three types of payments that RealRoots will send you as a guide: 1) payment for your hours guiding, 2) your meal credit, and 3) reimbursement for experiences.
- Guide payments are the payment you receive for your hours working as a guide. Guide rates vary by city and you can check your city’s rate here. This is your money to keep!
- Meal credits vary based on city tiers and are paid for each series experience (excludes M&G’s). This goes towards funding your meal so you don’t go out of pocket when you guide. If you order something small or nothing at all, you can pocket additional as earnings. Similarly if you order more than the meal credit, then it comes out of your own pocket.
- Reimbursements are the money sent to you in advance so that you can cover the group’s costs during that experience (some week’s there will be nothing needed for you to cover). This is to ensure that you aren’t having to front the money for expenses accrued during series experiences! For example, we will send you funds on Monday evening to cover a round of drinks at the experience you’re running on Wednesday evening. We ask that you stick within the budget we send you when possible and email us to let us know if a reimbursement needs to adjusted! Reimbursements will include cushion for tax and tip, so please make sure to add a 20% tip when applicable!
- Please always stick within the reimbursement budget! If you think your group will need more funds/our reimbursement is not adequate, reach out to [email protected] for us to take a look before your series event. If you spend outside of the budget at your series event, it is not guaranteed that we will reimburse you.
- We do not reimburse/pay for any transportation costs (parking etc.)
🍃 Payment Process:
- When you are onboarded, you’ll let us know if you want to receive your payments via Venmo or Paypal.
- Payments are sent out using the below payment schedule.
- There’s often extra money left over from reimbursements. Please use this to buy something extra for the gals (small gifts, dessert, or an extra bottle of wine all work equally well).
- If the reimbursements were not sufficient in covering the cost of an experience for any reason, please send us a copy of your receipt so that we can reimburse you the difference!
